Appetite for Art 2015
Submission Guidelines
Artists may submit up to three pieces for consideration. The artwork does not need to have a food theme. Accepted mediums include 2D, 3D, fibre, glass, ceramic and photography. Up to two images per piece can be submitted, with a minimum resolution of 1500 pixels on one side. Work must be original to the artist, and complete at the time of submission.
There is no fee for submission. Accepted artwork will be subject to a $10 hanging fee per piece, payable upon delivery of the artwork.
All work exhibited must be available for sale. A 20% commission fee will be collected on all sales.
PLEASE NOTE: While there is no restriction on price, keep in mind that the majority of sales are typically under $1000. Please also factor in the cost of materials, framing, hanging, and commission when pricing your piece.

About Appetite for Art
A feast for the senses! Appetite for Art is a joint community collaboration showcasing the artwork of Sooke Region artists which serve as inspiration for a series of dishes created by local food providers. Proceeds from the show will go toward the Sooke Fine Arts Youth Scholarship fund and the Sooke Food Bank. Click here for footage of last year's show, courtesy of Ricki Normandin.
The event, which takes place March 14th, 2015 at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort in Sooke, opens to the public at 7pm. Admission to the exhibit is $20 per person, which includes unlimited appetizers. A cash bar is also on site. All artwork will be for sale, and artists are invited to be on hand to discuss their inspiration, processes and techniques with art patrons.
This is an excellent opportunity to highlight the fabulous talents of Sooke region artists - with a unique flavour! Accepted artwork will serve as the basis for a series of complimentary appetizers created by a team of local chefs, to be displayed alongside the companion piece.
The West Coast Grill will host a gala dinner in the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. Tickets are $35, or $45 with wine pairings; seating is limited. Dinner guests will have complimentary entry to the show and a sneak preview of the artwork at 6pm.
